Lovely, Bright Suit with Sea View Near Galata

Description

You will have the entire apartment to yourself: 2 guests · 1 bedroom · 1 bed · 1 bath

This lovely, bright suite with seaview has an excellent location, Istiklal Street, metro station, and Galata Tower are a short walk away from the apartment. The neighborhood offers a rich choice of nice street cafés, bars, pubs, nightclubs, and restaurants serving local and international cuisines, and shopping centers. Taksim is also a popular residential district for expats.

Istiklal Street is a very popular pedestrianized street in Beyoglu district; 1.4 kilometers long from Taksim Square to the Tunnel. Historically known as the Grand Avenue of Pera and Grand Rue de Pera in French and Cadde-i Kebir in Ottoman Turkish. With the declaration of the Republic on 29 October 1923, the street was named as İstiklal (meaning independence) to commemorate the triumph of Turkish War of Independence.
It is visited by nearly 3 million people every day. There are lots of attractions on the street, such as Galatasaray Museum, Beyoglu Fish Market (Balik Pazari), Flower Passage (Cicek Pasaji) and the Tunnel (Tunel). There are also historically significant buildings, such as several Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian churches, some synagogues and mosques and consulates of several nations. Istiklal Street houses lots of art galleries, music stores, bookstores, cinemas, theatres, boutiques of local and global brands, cafés, pubs, live music venues, restaurants serving both local and international dishes and historical patisseries and chocolateries.

Galata Tower, one the iconic buildings of old Istanbul, offers a magnificent panoramic view of Istanbul, including the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn, the Blue Mosque and many more. Galata Tower is known to be built during Byzantium around 500, however took its current form by the Genoese in the late 1300s and served as trade, banking, and insurance center for many years. The Tower was used as a watchtower for fires during the Ottoman Period, as it was the tallest building, 66.9 meters, in Istanbul then.
After several restorations throughout its history, the Tower was turned into a museum hosting some exhibitions of its history. The panoramic view balcony is on the 8th floor of the Tower. Galata Tower was included in UNESCO World Heritage tentative list in Turkey in 2013. The neighborhood is a hustling cultural hub, which will make your time in Istanbul exceptional.

Reviews

“This was one of the best AirBnb's I've stayed in. Missy is the best host. She was so kind, attentive and very responsive. Not only is this flat beautiful, but it has a fantastic view of the Bosphorus and it's truly in the BEST location. The flat is well equipped with everything you need (especially for a long stay). The flat is spacious and well decorated/designed. I was very comfortable and on some days, I didn't want to leave. I would highly recommend staying in one of Missy's places.”    Jasmin - September 2021

“Very nice from all points of view. The location was amazing as was the view on the Bosphorus! The flat is located about 200 meters from İstiklal and unlike many other parts of Beyoğlu, it's in a very quiet area.”   Habib - June 2021

“Missy was a great host, quickly responded to all of my questions, provided us with a safe place where we could store our luggage after the check-out and before our departure on the same day. The apartment is amazing with a sea view, the street was quiet at night (in contrast with the other place we stayed at in Istanbul not very far from this apartment for the reason this apartment was not available for the dates) and very close to Istiklal avenue with the metro station nearby and currency exchange office on it, as well as plenty of local fashion boutiques on the way to Galata Tower. If I would travel to Istanbul again one day, I would definitely choose Missy's apartment for my stay.”    Tetiana - April 2021

“All praises for this airbnb and Missy, the host. She was very responsive and helpful, even went out of her way to help us with important personal matters. The airbnb is perfect, very close to metro, Istiklal shopping street & Taksim Square cafes/restaurants. Very clean and complete. We made a lot of good memories there! We will definitely be back!”    Janine Marie - March 2021

“It's very nice apartments. It's cozy, comfortable, clean. It has very beautiful view from the windows, where in the mornings you can watch the sunrise. Missy is very helpful and answers very fast. Location is great too. I can highly recommend the place.”   Marina - February 2021

“Great place to stay. Clean and nice with a nice view of the sea plus all the equipment you need. There is cafes and restaurants on the same street and right in front of the apartment, groceries store too. You can enjoy walking on the streets around and visit historical places. You can also get to the bus and subway by walking 2 min. The host, Missy is really nice and respond quickly all the time.”    Hooman - January 2021

“Missy’s place is super clean, stylish and beautiful. You’ve got anything you need there, including fully equipped kitchen, washer, hairdryer, I mean everything. It’s conveniently located too, about two minutes away from the subway station and a short walk away from the tram. You’ll also find a good amount of cute little cafes and restaurants nearby (at least two of them vegan). On top of that Missy is a great host, quick to reply via Airbnb messages, and super helpful. Highly recommend.” Alena - September 2020

“I spent nearly 3 weeks in Missy's apartment. Communication was friendly and detailed! Just perfect! She even asked sometimes if I would need anything and helped a lot. The apartment was perfectly clean (especially important in times of Corona: It was disinfected according to recommendations), well equipped with a modern Wash Dryer and a fully furnished kitchen. The location is very nearby public transportation which brings you within minutes to all the important sights. Bars and Restaurants are approx. 200 meters up the street in the famous Istiklal avenue (but it is still a very quiet place). You can even find a small cafe just across the street. Last but not least the apartment was rounded up with a lot of amenities (some sweets, water, shampoo, ...). 100% recommendation for that place! Thank you!” Alexander - July 2020

“I stayed at Missy's "Lovely Suit with Seaview" apartment with a regular expectation that it may only look big or clean in the picture. However, when I entered the unit, I was beyond happy that it was actually way above what I expected, it was even better than it showed in the picture. The rooms were sparkling clean, the kitchen and eating utensils were super complete and clean, bed and pillows were clean and comfortable to sleep on, bathroom was perfectly clean and completed with proper toiletries, hairdryer was as needed. I was planning to stay the entire time in Missy's place, unfortunately it was partially booked so I had to stay in other place the first 2 days. For the reasons above, I can understand why her place was fully booked. The apartment was only 5 minutes slow walking distance to Taksim, and slightly more to Sishane station which guaranteed my mobility anywhere I planned to go. It is also located on a street where it was not that busy so you will still feel quietness despite its close distance to Istiklal st. I really thank Missy for her hospitality and wish to come back one day at her place :)”   Nuke - October 2019

“The apartment is extremely well located only a few steps away from the action of İstiklal Caddesi and Karakoy and with easy access to both public transportation as well as taxis to go to other parts of town. Easy access to a plethora of really good restaurants for all kind of budgets and tastes as well as convenience stores and some very cozy breakfast places if one doesn’t wish to make his own. Missy is a great host always readily available and super friendly. We will definitely stay at her apartment again when we go back to Istanbul.”   Marco - May 2019
