Narmanli Han is one the great examples of Istanbul’s cultural richness as it was a home for culture and art people in the 19th and 20th centuries in Istanbul. It was built by the Swiss-Italian architects Fossati Brothers in 1831 and had been used for various purposes during its history such as an embassy and trade and consular offices. The building was bought by Narman Brothers in 1933 and became the home of many prominent intellectuals of Istanbul, like the painters Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu and Aliye Berger and the writer Ahmet Hamdi Tanpinar between 1944 and 1951. It was restored in 2020.
Narmanli Han is one of the must-visit places in Beyoglu (around the Tunnel).
